Day 2:

First thing in the morning, we added thymidine to our blood samples. After that, we practised some harvesting skills. Then, we learnt about FISH (fluorescent in situ hybridization). It's a super cool technique. The image you get when you look into the microscope is super nice :) After that, we learnt how to differentiate the different chromosomes (eg. chromosome 1 from chromosome 3). It's super difficult cos they all look the same to me!!! I have to practise karyotyping so many times to SLIGHTLY get it.
